In a statement that has now circled the globe, Yacé described her resignation as an act of integrity rather than retreat.

“To continue on this path, I must remain true to my values. I hereby announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania and from any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee," she stated.

She added that her duty has always been to inspire new generation, especially young girls and encourage them to push their limits, urging them to step fearlessly into spaces where they believe they do not belong, and to proudly embrace their identity.

A resignation amid mounting accusations

Her decision follows an explosion of allegations surrounding the Miss Universe 2025 results. Global audiences have accused the organization of racial bias after Yacé, widely regarded as the strongest contestant, failed to win the crown.

Online outrage intensified when claims emerged that the father of winner Fatima Bosch of Mexico allegedly has close ties to a Miss Universe Organization leader, raising concerns of undue influence in the judging process.

One juror who stepped out into the judge committee reportedly suggested that the final results may have been affected by external pressure linked to business dealings, and results were known before the final round. He requested the board member of Miss Universe Organization to devalue the beauty pageant of this year.

Worldwide praise for Olivia’s integrity

Contestants and former queens around the world have publicly united in support of Yacé, calling her resignation a historic act of courage.

Today I say to you, my Queen, and to all those who competed in this way...My Respects!"

Miss Universe Indonesia 2025, Sanly Liuu, who placed in the Top 12, and Miss Universe Cuba 2025, Miss Universe Iraq 2025, and other contestants in various years also expressed deep admiration

A message that reflects beyond the stage
